Being a Humane Society and Animal Control makes it a little difficult to work with the animals on a one on one basis. Any help we can get to work with the Shelter animals helps us as well as them.

Shelter animals need more attention given to them than your normal housepet. Housepets have attention anytime they want it . A shelter animal needs more attention because they spend most of the day in a kennel with 3 concrete walls and a chain link door. If they are not given enough attention then they start to chew on and destroy whatever they can get their mouths on.

If you have the time and energy you can spend giving a shelter animal attention please come volunteer.

Tasks of a volunteer will range from one-on-one time with the animals, feeding and watering the animals, helping put up donations received, going and picking up donations, walking dogs, and playing with cats. We will never put you in a harmful situation. We are good at matching people and animals together. So please volunteer if you have some free time.
